Three offbeat ideas for weekend fun

1. Bid for Bachelors: The 10th annual Bid for Bachelors, a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas, is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at the Hyatt Regency, 400 W. Waterman. It will feature champagne, hors d'oeuvres and a live auction of single local men, willing to date for a cause. In the past nine years, the event has raised nearly $260,000. 2. Kids Towne Affair: Towne East Square is hosting its second annual Hawaiian-themed party for kids from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. It will feature costumed characters, a bounce house, prizes and giveaways. Admission is free, and the events will be staged in the area outside of Sears. For more information, call 316-686-4849.

3. Zumba Party in the Park: Wichita Park and Recreation is putting on a community-wide Zumba party from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Central Riverside Park. Zumba, for those who don't know, is a fast-paced style of exercise/dance that's all the rage. Certified instructors at the event will demonstrate dance steps and other moves. Admission is free.
