Less than a month after the Maize High girls soccer team made headlines with a flip throw-in goal, McPherson did the same.

Michaela Bowers has the trick up her sleeve, too, and showed it off Monday against Augusta in a 10-0 win.

Bowers launched the ball about 35 yards into the box, and Aislinn Hughes got her head to it. Hughes is now up to 21 goals this season and is one of only five players in the City League and AVCTL who has reached the 20-goal mark this season.

But the Bullpups weren't done. Tuesday against Winfield, Jaycee Burghart whipped in a corner kick that curved right right to left into the net.

With winds reaching 30 mph, the ball carried and left the goalkeeper helpless in the 10-0 win.

The Bullpups are 11-1-1 this season and boast the top offense among all City League and AVCTL teams. McPherson has scored close to 20 more goals than any other team and has a goal differential of +75.

Four players have at least 10 goals.

McPherson hosts Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
