Andale put three wrestlers in Saturday’s championship matches and had the lead in the Class 4A team standings after Friday’s matches at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
The Indians’ top three wrestlers — Zach Eck at 138 pounds, Anthony Capul at 195 and Davon Spexarth at 220 — all reached the finals after three victories Friday.
Eck and Capul are in search of their second consecutive championships. Eck won at 132 pounds last year, Capul in 195.
Eck will take on McPherson’s Austin Eldredge in Saturday’s championship.

Another AV-CTL wrestler, 152-pound senior Anthony Scantlin of Mulvane, will attempt to end a perfect season and win a third 4A championship at the same time. Scantlin breezed through three matches on pins Friday and gets his chance at a third gold Saturday.
At 113 pounds, Maize South’s Jayson West will face Clearwater’s Darryl Rylant in the championship match. It’s a rematch of last week’s regional championshp match, won by West 3-2 in an ultimate tiebreaker.
Class 3A — Eureka brothers Kendall and Kolby Beitz reached the championship round with three victories in Hays.
Kendall Beitz will wrestle for his first title in 106 pounds, while Kolby (29-3) is top-ranked in 113.
Eureka (61 points) is in fourth place in the 3A team standings, 43 points behind leader Norton. Marion (32.5 points) and Douglass (31.5) are the next-closest Wichita-area teams.
