Attica boys win 1A-I quarterfinal; Central Christian, Pretty Prairie drop openers

Attica alone will carry the Heart of the Plains banner forward in the Class 1A boys basketball tournaments as two other league members lost Wednesday in Dodge City.

Attica defeated Dighton 46-32 in a Division II quarterfinal while Central Christian lost a heartbreaker to Hartford 65-64 in overtime. In Division I, Pretty Prairie lost to Centralia 58-42.

Hartford’s Clayton Fowler hit a three-pointer at the buzzer at the top of the arc in overtime to beat Central Christian.

Nate Heneha led Central with a season-high 36 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds. Austin Majors led Hartford with 29 points and 15 rebounds.
