Girls roundup: Kennedy Hackerott paces Goddard past Ark City

Kennedy Hackerott scored 11 points to lead visiting Goddard to a 37-26 victory over Arkansas City in a AV-CTL II girls basketball game Tuesday night.

The Lions (6-1) took command by outscoring Ark City 14-5 in the third quarter.

City League

South 70, Northwest 18 – The host Titans moved to 7-0 as Ericka Mattingly scored 13 points and Kendrian Elliott had 11.

Kapaun 52, West 28 – Visiting Kapaun improved to 4-4 behind a 34-6 halftime lead. Anna Roulston had 12 points and Ashley Lesser 10 for Kapaun. Alicia Ross led West with 12.

East 55, North 35 – Ja’Mia Jackson had 13 points and Mariah McKinney added 10 for host East (3-5). Marisa Evans had 16 points to lead North (1-6).

AV-CTL

Andale 32, Mulvane 21 – Andale held Mulvane to first first-half points but didn’t pull away until the fourth quarter. Kadey Dreiling led Andale with 12 points; Emma Chambers had eight for Mulvane.

Rose Hill 55, Augusta 34 – Anna Van Driel’s 19 points led Rose Hill to a Division III victory. Jayden Marlnee had 15 points to lead visiting Augusta.

Salina South 37, Campus 28 – Kortney Schutt had 10 points to lead Campus.

Circle 39, Collegiate 31 – Circle raced to a 22-2 lead in the game's first 9:33 and held on for the win at Collegiate, which mounted a 13-0 comeback over the second and third periods. Kali Martin led Circle with eight points.

Wellington 62, Clearwater 23 – Host Wellington pulled ahead 36-10 by halftime of a Division IV victory. Grace Mitchell scored 23 points and Avery Rusk had 13 for the Crusaders.

Newton 38, Hutchinson 24 – The host Railers won a Division I matchup by taking control in the fourth quarter. Newton led 21-15 entering the final period and scored 17 fourth-quarter points.

Salina Central 55, Maize 52 – Halee Roland had 28 points for the visiting Eagles, who trailed by eight points after the first quarter.

Maize South 72, Eisenhower 64 – The visiting Mavericks made 9 of 13 free-throw attempts in the final quarter. Maize South was led by Jade Winter with 22 points, while Eisenhower was led by Jaden Damon with 22.

Valley Center 57, Andover 37 – The visiting Hornets got 22 points from Kennedy Weaver and took control in the first half. Ginger Geddeis and Rylie Evenson had 11 points each for Andover.

Central Plains League

Conway Springs 36, Douglass 16 – The host Cardinals won a CPL game by scoring nine points in every quarter. Halie Jones had 21 points to lead Conway.

Garden Plain 45, Trinity Academy 32 – Madison Schmelzer had 12 points and Taylor Joplin had 11 to lead the host Owls in a league game.
