Girls roundup: Andover Central pours it on against Ark City

Becca Schulte had 19 points and led five Andover Central players in double figures as the Jaguars scored 48 first-half points to pound Arkansas City 76-49 in an AV-CTL Division II game Friday night in Ark City.

Masen Stamp had 18 points, Mandy Leedom and Amanda Kakoulias had 15 points each, and Brooke Pederson had 10 for Andover Central, which remained unbeaten.

Kaitlyn Potter had 19 points to lead Ark City, with Katee Salas adding 12.

City League

South 57, Northwest 22 – The visiting Titans remained unbeaten in league play by building a 35-13 halftime lead. Kirea Rogers had 21 points to lead South, and Kendrian Elliott added 13. Naria Hall’s 13 points led Northwest.

Kapaun 62, West 18 – Kapaun recovered from two consecutive losses to pound West. The Crusaders led 38-5 at halftime. Brenna Monty had 14 points off the bench and Sam Bachrodt had 12 for Kapaun, while Angelia Murray and Anatasia Carter had six each for West.


Circle 28, Sedgwick 26 – Emily Dennison scored 13 points to lead the Thunderbirds to a non-league win at Sedgwick.

Campus 55, Clearwater 22 – Reagan Brown scored 16 points and host Campus held Clearwater to four points in each of the first three quarters. Hayley Leeper added 13 points for Campus.

Wellington 50, El Dorado 30 – Wellington’s Lauryn Snipes (14 points) and Avery Rusk (14) helped build a 13-point halftime lead en route to a non-division victory at Wellington. Cadeyn Reinhardt led El Dorado with 14 points.

Goddard 35, Eisenhower 32 – Jenna Clasen’s 13 points helped visiting Goddard win a Division II game. Mallory Miller led Eisenhower with 13 points.

McPherson 60, Rose Hill 25 – Taylor Robertson scored 20 points to lead the visiting Bullpups to a Division III victory. Rose Hill was led by Kayna Simoneau’s 14 points, but the Rockets were held to 11 first-half points.

Winfield 46, Mulvane 25 – Host Winfield held Mulvane to nine first-half points. Courtney Griffiths led the Vikings with 10 points.

Central Plains League

Cheney 45, Bluestem 16 – The host Cardinals held Bluestem to four points in the second half. Haley Albers scored 24 points for Cheney.

Garden Plain 50, Medicine Lodge 29 – The visiting Owls built a 33-10 halftime lead and cruised to a CPL victory. Daylynn Doyle led nine Garden Plain scorers with 12 points, while Emily Hrencher’s 14 led Medicine Lodge.

Conway Springs 43, Independent 30 – Sara Echelberry scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as host Conway Springs held off a second-half charge from Independent and won its sixth consecutive game. Independent, which got 10 points for Alise Coccetella, cut a 10-point halftime deficit to 25-22 late in the third quarter, but couldn’t get any closer.

Trinity Academy 55, Chaparral 22 – Caroline Zielke’s 19 points led the visiting Knights to a league win. Micala Hollinger added 10 points and Chaparral was held to single digits in all quarters.
