Boys roundup: Last-second dunk powers Salina Central by Maize

Jordan McNelly caught a lob pass and dunked in the final second of overtime, giving Salina Central a 57-55 win Tuesday night at Maize.

Salina Central overcame an eight-point deficit in the final 1:12 of regulation. Bardyen Neuschafer hit a pair of three-pointers to spark the rally. McNelly finished with 23 points and Neuschafer added 17. Matthew LeBegue led Maize with 16 points.

City League

Southeast 88, Northwest 76 – Jerrick Harding scored a season-high 35 points and the host Buffaloes scored 34 second-quarter points to put away Northwest. Stephon Barber had 19 points and Brycen Cobbins 14 for Southeast, while K’Veoin Richard had 23 points to lead Northwest.

Carroll 77, West 53 – Patrick Carney had 16 points and Connor Evans had 15 to lead host Carroll, which led 33-8 after the first quarter. Caleb Moore had 20 points and Javon Reed 11 to lead West.


Andover 61, Valley Center 48 – Visiting Andover pulled away with 23 fourth-quarter points and got 11 points each from Eli Renoux, Chase Oberg and Drake Short. Nathan Brown had 16 points for Valley Center.

Goddard 56, Arkansas City 35 – Bryant Mocaby had 16 points and Carlton Wetiba had 13 in the host Lions’ victory. Arkansas City was held to 17 points through three quarters.

Collegiate 75, Circle 56 – Cameron Christian’s 18 points led eight Spartans in double figures for the Division IV road victory. Cody McNerney had 17 points, Xzavaier Adams 13 and Austin Waddell 11. Brendon Horyna’s 12 points led Circle.

Andale 63, Mulvane 43 – Host Andale held Mulvane to 14 first-half points and got 13 points from Hunter Knoblauch. Jace Price had 17 points and Jaden Dulaney added 13 for Andale.

Augusta 57, Rose Hill 47 – Chaydon Carter had 17 points on host Augusta’s victory. Dustyn McEachern added 11 for the Orioles, while Brandon Ma’s 12 points led Rose Hill.

Salina South 58, Campus 48 – The Colts fell into a 12-point halftime hole that they couldn’t escape. Noah Moody had 14 points and Mario Ponds and Harold Craig had 11 each for Campus.

Clearwater 60, Wellington 53 – The host Indians rallied from a six-point halftime deficit for the Division IV victory. Kale Mills had 17 points and Collin Neises 12 for Clearwater, while Trevor Nance’s 16 points led Wellington.

Central Plains League

Cheney 73, Independent 70 – Cameron Hill had 26 points and Ty Patterson had 24 in Cheney’s road overtime victory. Shase Williams had 22 points and Chad Eikleberry had 17 for Independent, which led by seven at halftime.

Conway Springs 43, Douglass 34 – Dylan Murphy’s 12 points led the visiting Cardinals. Spencer Nethercot had 11 points to lead Douglass.

Trinity Academy 58, Garden Plain 35 – Matt Jones scored 18 points as host Trinity routed Garden Plain. Jordan Joplin and Alex Carro had 13 points each for Garden Plain.
