Roundup: Nicholson scores 25 in Derby victory

Aaron Nicholson scored 25 points to help the Derby boys rout Newton 59-36 in an Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I basketball game on Friday night in Newton.

Derby raced to a 40-14 halftime lead and extended it to 56-18 through three quarters.

Tevin Berry led Newton with 11 points.

Ross had 13 points to lead East, which overcame an 11 of 33 night at the free-throw line. Isabella Soliz had 10 points for Northwest.
