Boys roundup: Andover beats Ark City in Division II tilt

Jacob Wilson led three Andover Trojans in double figures with 15 points as Andover beat Arkansas City 62-47 in an AV-CTL Division II boys basketball game on Tuesday night in Andover.

Zach Seabrook and Austin Brown added 13 points each for Andover, which led 17-7 after the first quarter.

Skyler Bryant led Ark City with 20 points.

AV-CTL

Winfield 54, Augusta 43 – Taylor Woods had 23 points to lead the host Vikings to a Division III victory.

Circle 73, Clearwater 57 – Cal Hartley had 17 points and Cameron Parr had 15 points as Circle built a big first-quarter lead.

Hutchinson 52, Campus 44 – The visiting Salthawks rallied from a one-point deficit to start the fourth quarter, ekeing out a Division I victory. Trent Webster led Hutch with 22 points. Mario Ponds had 18 for Campus.

Salina South 44, Newton 35 – Tevin Berry and Daniel Wagoner each had 10 points in the Railers’ road loss in Division I.

Valley Center 62, Goddard 60, 2OT – The Hornets took command in the second overtime for a Division II victory. Nathan Brown had 17 points and Blake Crager had 12 for Valley Center. Goddard’s Tate Vang led all scorers with 22 points, while freshman teammate Bryant Mocaby had 15.

Central Plains League

Cheney 59, Medicine Lodge 33 – Ty Patterson’s 14 points helped the visiting Cardinals. Cameron Hill added 11 points and Jaylon Headley 10.

Trinity Academy 55, Belle Plaine 29 – Matt Jones scored 15 points as the Knights won a CPL road game. Alex Carro added eight points, while Brandon Happy led Belle Plaine with 10 points.
