Boys roundup: Kapaun stays unbeaten

Kapaun Mount Carmel exploded for 30 points in the third quarter after leading 29-25 at halftime on the way to a 72-59 win over Southeast on Saturday.

Kapaun’s Thomas O’Connor led all scorers with 29 points, and teammate Atir Cherne chipped in with 15 points as the Crusaders improved to 3-0.

Jerrick Harding led Southeast (1-3) with 28 points.

City League

East 74, West 36 — Ten different players scored for the Aces, led by Zach Jackson’s 16 points and Mark Hartley’s 10 points as East improved to 3-0.

Heights 52, North 26 — Heights used a balanced effort to rout North, scoring at least 10 points in each quarter. Chris Lowe and Semaj Hervey led the Falcons with 11 poins each. Andrew Sanders led North with 16 points.

Heights (3-1) has won three straight after dropping its season opener against Kapaun.

Tournaments

Sacred Heart 61, El Dorado 41 — Sacred Heart raced to a 28-15 halftime lead and El Dorado never threatened after that at the Chapman Tournament. Alec Hildreth led El Dorado with 10 points.

Circle 66, Mulvane 44 — Circle had four players in double figures, led by Cal Hartley’s 19 points, to overwhelm Mulvane in the Circle Tournament. Braden Kirkpatrick (13 points), Brendon Horyna (11 points) and Garrett Cannon (10 points) all had big games for the Thunderbirds to back up Hartley.

Jace Price led Mulvane with 20 points, but was the only Wildcat in double figures.

Cheney 49, Clearwater 36 — Cheney’s Cameron Hill led all scorers with 29 points for the win at the Cheney Tournament. Collin Neises led Clearwater with 14 points.

Hesston 58, Garden Plain 48 — At the Garden Plain Tournament, Hesston’s Tyler McCartney went off for 18 points and teammate Grant Raleigh added 11 poitns in the Swathers’ victory. Jordan Joplin led Garden Plain with 13 points.

Other

Sunrise 56, Conway Springs 42 — Marcus Fager led Sunrise with 24 points. Conway Springs was led by Josh Dugan’s 11 points.
