Matt Donart scored 18 points and Dawson Gunter had 13 to lead Wichita South past Raytown (Mo.) South 62-51 Friday night in the semifinals of the CNB Classic in Leavenworth.
The Titans will play Topeka in Saturday’s championship game.
Wichita South trailed by four points after one period, but held Raytown South to four second-quarter points to take control.
Kapaun 65, North 36 – Kapaun built a double-digit halftime lead at home and picked it up from there in the second half. Michael Lickteig had 16 points and Thomas O’Connor had 14 for Kapaun.
Southeast 72, West 41 – Jerrick Harding scored 29 points to lead Southeast to its first victory. The Buffaloes began with a 29-11 first quarter. Cortez Harper had 18 for Southeast, while Caleb Moore led West with 21 points.
Maize South 82, Goddard 47 – Maize South built a 27-0 first-quarter lead in a Division II home victory. The Mavericks led 40-17 at halftime before extending the lead to 32 after three quarters. Kade Kordonowy had 29 points and Cole Koster had 18 to lead Maize South. Peyten Ricks added 14 points. Goddard freshman Bryant Mocaby had 21 points, his second straight game of at least 20 points.
Abilene 53, Augusta 51 – Clay Wesbrooks and Logan Weakley had 10 points each for the Orioles, who came up short in the fourth quarter.
Andale 59, Pratt 39 – The visiting Indians took a 21-7 first-quarter lead and cruised to victory behind 14 points from Jordan Anderson and 10 from Bo Knoblauch.
Derby 69, Campus 60 – Aaron Nicholson’s 19 points led five host Panthers in double figures for the Division I victory. James Conley (14), Nyjee Wright (13), Josh Mark (11) and Keaton Steadman (10) were also in double figures. Noah Moody had 18 points and Chace Howard 16 for Campus.
Eisenhower 87, Arkansas City 58 – Brent Smith had 19 points, Bailey Strunk 14 and Matt Pile 13 in the Tigers’ road win. Eisenhower scored 30 first-quarter points and led by 28 at halftime.
Maize 46, Hutchinson 39 – Cortlin Standifer scored 14 points to lead Maize to a Division I road victory. Trent Webster and Ryan Stoeklein had 10 points each for Hutchinson.
Circle 73, Defenders 41 – Cal Hartley had 16 points and Garrett Cannon 14 for host Circle.
Garden Plain 57, Rose Hill 35 – Zach May scored 14 points and Jordan Joplin had 13 in the Owls’ home tournament victory. Brandon Ma had 14 to lead the Rockets.
Wellington 54, Conway Springs 38 – The Crusaders built a 15-point halftime lead, then poured it on the fourth quarter for the Garden Plain tournament victory. Trevor Nance’s 18 points and Tyler Pettigrew’s 17 led Wellington. Josh Dugan had 13 points and Nick Barkley had 10 for Conway.
