McPherson tourney, Day 1 (includes video)

Derby opened the McPherson tourney with a 95-90 double overtime win over BV West, which had a 22-9 lead after one.

Derby’s Jeremy Dunham was the man, scoring eight points in the second overtime and finishing with a team-high 28 points. Derby struggled to contain Blaise Gammon, who had dominated the lane. He had 34 points, 15 rebounds and four dunks.

SM East handled Carroll 52-36 in the second game of the day. Carroll was led by Matt Price, who scored a game-high 17 points and had seven rebounds.

Friday’s schedule: 4:45 p.m. Carroll vs. BV West; 6:30 p.m. Derby vs. SM East (Derby beat SM East 62-57 in the 6A 3rd place game in March)
