City League athletic director J Means and Maize district athletic director Marc Haught set out to schedule top-notch matchups for the second year of the City League vs. Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League challenge at Koch Arena in early January.
Means and Haught did just that.
Without the restrictions of each school’s boys and girls playing a common opponent or with having to schedule the games months ahead of time, Means and Haught were able to schedule teams against similar opponents.
The first game, at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, will be the West girls against Arkansas City. Both teams are winless after the first eight days of the season.
