Blake Jablonski, a 2009 Top 11 selection by The Wichita Eagle while at Collegiate, earned a football scholarship at Kansas.
“It made me smile to see such great support for (Jablonski),” Weis said. “Here's a kid from Wichita, bleeds Crimson and Blue, been in the program forever, has a role — he's our holder and he's involved in some of our special teams now. (He's) about ready to graduate.

“As I walked away, I watched the team celebrating as I gave Blake a scholarship, and I wasn't expecting when we voted for the leadership committee, for him to be one of the highest vote-getters.”
According to the Wichita Eagle’s Blake Jablonski, KU coach Charlie Weis told Jablonski he was giving him a scholarship on Friday at the end of practice. Dodd said that the team cheered the announcement. Jablonski was also named to the nine-man leadership council.
“From outside to the weightroom to practice, he’s selfless, works hard, gives 100 percent at everything — literally. It’s behind the scenes, but once Coach Weis said it, we were like ‘Yes, you deserve that,’” receiver Justin McCay said.
