The Kansas State High School Activities Association will use a 45-point rule in 11-man postseason football games. When a team is ahead by 45 points in the second half, a running clock will be used, even if the margin drops below 45 points.
This is a mandatory rule — except in the state title games.
The KSHSAA has already used a running clock in basketball postseason games and had been used in 8-man postseason games.
