The East baseball team has only lost one City League this season, and that was back in March against Heights (12-5) in the City League Classic.
Heading into its last doubleheader of the regular season, East (15-3, 13-1) knows it has control of its own destiny. If the Aces can at least split with Bishop Carroll (12-6, 12-2) on Tuesday, it will take the City Crown.
This would be quite an accomplishment considering the Aces had seven league wins last season and were not that competitive against the city’s top teams.
East, riding solid defense and timely hitting, has won 14 of its last 15 games. Carroll has won eight of its last 11 games, but will enter Tuesday’s games with a on a two-game losing streak. It dropped tough games to Kapaun Mount Carmel and Goddard on Thursday and Friday.
