Carroll, Andale-Garden Plain reach 5A softball semis

TOPEKA — Bishop Carroll pitcher Megan Wilson struck out 10 and helped the Golden Eagles to the Class 5A softball semifinals, defeating Arkansas City 2-1 on Friday.

“Megan did great, I don’t believe she gave up a walk the whole game,” Carroll coach Angie Dal Pozzo said. “She kept the offense under control and our batters did great as well.”

Carroll scored first on a Kaitlyn Carey single in the first inning. Wilson took command, keeping Ark City scoreless until the fifth inning.

“They have a lot of good hitter and she kept them off balance with good pitches,” Dal Pozzo said.
