Varsity Kansas

Baseball update

So far this week, I’ve gotten to talk with some really talented players. I covered the first game of a double header between Kapaun and Heights today. Kapaun remains undefeated at 6-0. I got to chat with pitcher Michael Reynolds, who got the win in a 16-3 route. He has some good stuff to work with. He has a fastball in the mid 80s and a nice breaking ball to complement it. Check out the game story in Wednesday’s paper.

Also, for my notebook, I talked to Northwest standouts Brandon Phillips, Ethan Chadick and Bob Arens about their hot start. This is another undefeated team that can make the case to be one of the best clubs in the state. So check that out in my notebook for Thursday’s paper.

Let me know your thoughts on some other standouts so far this season whether it be area or City League. I’ve seen great baseball from team’s like Blue Valley West, Bishop Carroll, Goddard, Kapaun and Northwest. I will be heading out to Campus tomorrow.
