Remington doesn’t get much pub here, I admit it. But when boys coach Rod Browning wins his 400th, I feel the need to talk about it.
Browning was the longtime girls coach at Kapaun Mount Carmel, where he had a highly successful career. I always enjoyed covering his games because I could always count on good girls basketball play — not something you always see, you know? He also was so friendly, although he teased me quite a bit. I got to know his family, and his son, Matthew, is a correspondent for us. I like to think it’s because of me that he chose that path. I’m doubtful of that, though. And Browning’s wife, let me tell you, she can cook.
But it’s good to see one of the good guys have success. So congrats to Rod.
