Tyler Bishop’s 41-yard field goal turned out to be the difference in the host Eagles’ Class 6A-District 8 victory. Bishop’s kick, with 3:58 to play, put Maize ahead 24-14. Garden City scored with 3:15 to play, but couldn’t take the lead.

Eagles running back Tyler Turner had 20 rushes for 107 yards and all three of the team’s touchdowns. Maize (2-5) can clinch a playoff berth next week with a victory over Dodge City.
