The Wichita Wingnuts pounded the Sioux City Explorers 10-0 on Saturday night at Sioux City, Iowa.
Adam Cowart pitched six shutout innings for the victory, striking out three and giving up one walk.
The Wingnuts put up four runs in the first inning on a two-RBI double from Carlos Rivera and a two-run RBI single from Jeff Christy.
Wichita put four more runs up in the second inning. Ryan Patterson, who extended his hitting streak to 15 games, hit a home run to lead off the third and added an RBI in the fourth.
Sioux City third baseman and Wichita State product Derek Schermerhorn had five errors.
