Winguts drop opener at Shreveport

Shreveport scored three runs in the first inning off Wichita Wingnuts starting pitcher Luke Massetti on the way to a 4-2 win over Wichita in the series opener at Shreveport, La.

Cesar Juarez homered off Shreveport starter Cardoza Tucker in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 3-1 and Steven Pearson hit a two-out RBI double in the seventh to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Captains scored an insurance run in the eighth for the final margin of victory.
