A.J. Gale scored the game's first goal and the final two, leading the Thunder to a 5-3 victory at Dayton, Ohio, on Friday night.
Gale's first goal came shorthanded midway through the first period. Jesse Bennefield scored 92 seconds later to put Wichita up 2-0.
Dayton cut the lead to 2-1 later in the first period, then scored twice in the second to go up 3-2.
The Thunder pulled even on a goal by Aaron Davis at 5:45 of the third, then went ahead 4-3 on Gale's goal at 16:35.
