The Thunder scored twice in the third period, but it wasn't enough to prevent another loss on the road, this one 5-3 at Rapid City, S.D., on Friday night.
The loss extended the Thunder's winless streak to nine games.
Wichita's Kyle Bruce scored the game's first goal with an assist from Chris McAllister at 8:52 of the first period. Rapid City tied the scored later in the period with a power play goal, then took a 3-1 lead in the second period with two more man-advantage goals.
Joel Hanson and Jason Woll scored in the third period for the Thunder, but the Rush scored twice as well to protect its two-goal advantage.
The teams meet again tonight in Rapid City.
