Royals fans who want to hear Denny Matthews and Ryan Lefebvre on the radio should drive closer to Kansas City during the World Series.

ESPN’s exclusive broadcast rights dictate that affiliates of the Royals Radio Network must carry the ESPN broadcast during the World Series. That includes Wichita station KFH (1240-AM, 98.7-FM).

“That is not our decision,” KFH program director Tony Duesing said in an email. “ESPN Radio has the exclusive rights to World Series on radio.”

The Royals broadcast can be heard only flagship station KCSP, 610-AM, although it is also subject to ESPN control and must use ESPN promo spots and advertisements.

Dan Shulman and Aaron Boone will call the radio broadcasts for ESPN.
