City League boys soccer notes

Carroll's otherwise difficult 2010 culminated with a satisfying trip to the Class 5A quarterfinals. The Eagles return much of their roster, including seniors Alex Hamel, Darin Ranney and Jarod Ohm.

With most of its roster comprised of juniors and sophomores, East could rely heavily on seniors Bryan Godina, Cristian Rodriguez and George PapaMichael.

Heights returns 11 starters, led by second-team All-City players Carter Way, Malik Kabbani, Malichi Hoyer and goalkeeper Adam Fuchs, all seniors.

Kapaun boasts one of the league's top scorers in senior Drue Benning. Brenden Bombardier was a fellow all-class player, and the Crusaders also return Austin Williams and goalie Kobi Mashuouk.

North will likely build around its talented defense, which is led by Jhovany Baltazar, Abraham Martinez and Noel Martinez.

Among South's top returners are key defender Dalton Chrisman and fellow senior Taylor Henry, who is the pace-setter on offense.

Southeast lost nearly all of its top players and will look to rebuild around an inexperienced core group.

West hopes to see its youth come to fruition. The Pioneers' top returner is senior midfielder Arturo Marrufo.
