Wichita State’s rain-delayed baseball game will begin at 2:16 p.m. Thursday in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

Play resumed after a rain delay of 2 hours, 45 minutes at 12:15 p.m. Evansville defeated Illinois State 4-3 on a 10th-inning home run by Boomer Synek.

The storms hit in the fifth inning of the day’s first game, with Evansville leading Illinois State 3-2.

Rains are predicted to return to the area around 10 p.m.

Squeezing four games in between storms may be a challenge, even for Warn Field and its artificial turf infield and natural grass outfield. Current forecasts call for rain for around two more hours.
