Missouri State is the favorite after receiving 60 points and six first-place votes. Coaches gave WSU 47 points. Illinois State and Indiana State each received 45 points to tie for third.

WSU first baseman Johnny Coy was named to the all-conference team. The Shockers return six starters from a team that went 35-25 last season and finished third in the MVC (12-9).

Missouri State (40-22) returns MVC Pitcher of the Year Nick Petree and Freshman of the Year Tyler Burgess, a relief pitcher.
