Dallas Baptist’s expected entrance into the Missouri Valley Conference as a baseball-only member is on hold over the weekend.

“We are unable to divulge the results,” he said. “We do believe we will have an announcement to make as early as Monday.”
On Wednesday, WSU athletic director Eric Sexton expressed confidence the presidents would vote Dallas Baptist a member in time for the 2014 season.

Dallas Baptist is an NCAA Division II member in other sports. The Patriots played seven of the eight MVC members in weekend series in 2012, helping the MVC ascend to a No. 5 ranking in the RPI. Dallas Baptist earned an at-large bid to the NCAA regionals in 2012 and played in a super regional in 2011.
