Wichita State junior Johnny Coy is the team’s lone All-Missouri Valley Conference baseball player.
Coy, who plays first base and designated hitter, leads the MVC with 62 RBIs and is hitting .352 with 17 doubles and nine home runs. He went 11 for 18 last week, scoring five runs and driving in six, in four games to earn MVC Player of the Week honors.
Coy, from St. Joseph, Mo., was an All-MVC pick at first base last season.
Reliever Cale Elam, a sophomore, was named to the second team. Elam leads WSU nine saves and is 6-4 with a 2.09 ERA.

Sophomore shortstop Erik Harbutz, sophomore second baseman Dayne Parker, sophomore outfielder Micah Green and senior pitcher Josh Smith received honorable mention. Senior outfielder Kevin Hall was named to the All-Defensive Team.
Indiana State catcher Jeremy Lucas was named Player of the Year. Missouri State’s Nick Petree earned Pitcher of the Year honors.
MSU wins All-Sports Trophy — WSU won four MVC titles and finished second in the All-Sports Trophy standings to Missouri State.
MSU compiled an average finish of 2.615, just ahead of WSU’s 2.867. Illinois State (3.3) finished third, followed by Northern Iowa (4.5) and Indiana State (4.9).
WSU, which won last year, earned team titles in men’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s tennis and women’s outdoor track and field. The Shockers finished fourth or better in 13 of their 15 sports.
MSU won titles in men’s soccer, women’s swimming and diving, women’s basketball, women’s indoor track and women’s golf.
