Shockers head to Stillwater

It’s been 30 days since Wichita State baseball has been on the road. After a 19-game homestand, the Shockers had better get used to travel.

Wichita State (17-14) is away from Eck Stadium for eight of the next nine games, beginning with a 6:30 meeting tonight at Oklahoma State (14-14).

The Cowboys are off to a rough start, losing five of their first six Big 12 Conference games. Baylor swept OSU over the weekend in Waco.

Cleanup hitter Robbie Rea leads OSU with a .322 average, four home runs and 22 RBIs. The second baseman has started all 28 games.

Oklahoma State is 12-3 at Reynolds Stadium, but hasn’t faced great competition. The Cowboys lost twice to Houston and once to Missouri State.

WSU, 2-1 in the Missouri Valley, continues its road stretch with a three-game series at Illinois State beginning Friday. Its next home game is April 11 against Kansas.
