WSU women suffer 25-point loss on road

The Wichita State women's basketball team missed its first 11 shots and never recovered, losing to Central Michigan 98-73 on Wednesday in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.

The Shockers trailed 14-1 before Heather Robben made WSU's first field goal with 11:02 left in the half. The Shockers were never closer than 8 points the rest of the game, and the deficit ballooned to 21 with 2:22 in the first half.

Breabba Dawkins had 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Shockers.

Niki DiGuilio scored 23 points to lead Central Michigan (8-3).

Wichita State wraps up nonconference play 6-5. The Shockers return to action Dec. 31 against Evansville.

Kansas 64, Creighton 56 — Carolyn Davis scored 18 points and Aishah Sutherland added 14 to help the Jayhawks hold off Creighton in Omaha.

KU build an early 12-point lead, but Creighton cut it to seven by halftime and managed to take a four-point lead in the second half before Kansas recovered.
