No. 3 Texas defeated Wichita State 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21) on Saturday in the Rams Volleyball Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.
Jody Larson led the Shockers with 19 kills, matching her career-high for WSU (4-3). She hit .238 and added seven digs and a solo block. Middle Abbie Lehman hit .650 and finished with 13 kills. Mikaela Raudsepp also contributed 13 kills. WSU hit .303 with setter Emily Hiebert handing out a season-high 50 assists.
Ebony Nwanebu led Texas (7-1) with 20 kills, recording three errors for a .415 attack percentage. The Longhorns hit .344 for the match, including .536 in the decisive set.
WSU tied the fourth set 16-all on Hiebert’s service ace. The Longhorns, after a timeout, built a 21-17 lead and didn’t allow WSU closer than two points.

The Shockers led 20-17 in the third set before Texas went up 22-20. Raudsepp’s kill started a 3-0 run for the Shockers. After Texas tied the match 23-all, kills by Hiebert and Larson gave WSU its first set in three meetings with Texas.
WSU ends its stay in Fort Collins with a match against Samford at 1 p.m. Sunday.
