Wichita State recorded a season-high attack percentage of .440 on its way to a sweep at Colorado State on Thursday in the Rams Volleyball Classic.
The Shockers (4-2) converted 43 kills on 84 attempts with a season-low six errors to defeat the Mountain West Conference preseason favorite 26-24, 25-15, 25-17.
Jody Larson led WSU with 15 kills and hit .565. She had six kills in the first set and five on five swings in the third set. Middle Abbie Lehman added seven kills and hit .538. Tabitha Brown had seven kills, five in the second set.
The Rams (4-2) hit .231 with 16 errors. Jasmine Hanna and Kirstie Hillyer both had 13 kills.
In the first set, WSU rallied from a 24-22 deficit with four straight points.
WSU hit .652 in the second set and built leads of 10-5 and 19-12. In the third set, the Rams cut WSU’s lead to 17-14 before the Shockers pulled away to win 25-17.
WSU plays No. 3 Texas at 1 p.m. Saturday.
