Saturday’s small-college football games (Oct. 22)

Jayhawk Conference

No. 1 Garden City (7-0, 5-0) at No. 12 Dodge City (6-2, 3-1), 6 p.m.

Garden City, picked sixth in the Jayhawk Conference in the summer, has national championship aspirations, but now comes the biggest test of the regular season. Western Kansas-rival Dodge City has played more closer games, which could mean something in Saturday’s fourth quarter.

Other games

Fort Scott (3-4) at Ellsworth (Iowa) (4-3), 1 p.m.

Iowa Central (0-7) at Coffeyville (4-3), 1 p.m.

Iowa Western (3-4) at Highland (4-3), 1 p.m.

Hutchinson (4-3, 1-2) at Butler (4-3, 3-2), 7 p.m.

KCAC

Friends (3-3, 3-2) at No. 18 Tabor (4-2, 4-1), 2 p.m.

Do the visiting Falcons have a conference-shaking upset in them? If so, it may be on the back of RB Jesse Rogers, who’s No. 2 nationally in rushing yards per game (150). Tabor tries to get back in gear after last week’s OT loss to Kansas Wesleyan.

Other games

No. 25 Sterling (4-3, 3-2) at Ottawa (3-4, 3-2), 1 p.m.

Saint Mary (5-2, 4-1) at McPherson (1-6, 1-4), 1 p.m.

Southwestern (0-6, 0-5) at Bethel (2-4, 2-3), 1:30 p.m.

Bethany (1-6, 1-4) at No. 14 Kansas Wesleyan (6-1, 4-1), 6 p.m.
