Dodge City (3-6) at No. 4 Butler (8-1), 1:30 p.m. _ The Grizzlies beat Dodge City 66-7 on Sept. 24, and should roll again here as the Conquistadors make their first playoff appearance since Region VI went to a four-team playoff in 2006. An easy win means watching scores the rest of the day for Butler as No. 1 Blinn hosts Tyler, No. 2 Arizona Western plays at No. 15 Snow and No. 3 East Mississippi hosts No. 14 Hinds. Butler, which lost to Navarro in last year's national championship, will need some help if it wants a shot at its fourth NJCAA title under coach Troy Morrell. A win over Dodge City also sets up the Region VI title game as the last game in the history of Blackmore Stadium in El Dorado as the Grizzlies move to BG Products Veterans Stadium in 2012.
No. 22 Coffeyville (6-3) at No. 10 Hutchinson (7-2), 1:30 _ Freshman wide receiver/kick returner Jatavious Stewart has become a dangerous complement to All-America wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrellle Patterson. In last week's 42-17 win at Coffeyville, Stewart returned a punt 66 yards for a touchdown and also had a 47-yard touchdown reception. Stewart's 223 all-purpose yards against the Red Ravens earned him NJCAA special teams player of the week honors. Stewart (5-foot-9, 179 pounds) has 1,044 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns.
