Newman announced the resignation of two coaches Monday as women's basketball coach Tracy Anderson and baseball coach Leonard Rau both stepped down.
Anderson was 31-80 in four seasons leading the Jets, going 7-20 overall this season and 4-10 in Heartland Conference play, finishing in a tie for sixth place.
Newman athletic director Vic Trilli said the search for Anderson's replacement would begin immediately.
Rau, who had just begun his sixth season at Newman, resigned because of personal reasons.

The Jets are 5-9 to start the season and in sixth place in the Heartland. Rau's overall record was 143-146.
"Generally, we don't evaluate and make changes in the middle of the season," Trilli said. "It is extremely unusual to make a change like this."
Rau declined comment when reached by telephone Monday night.
In a written statement, Trilli added: "I want to thank Coach Anderson and Coach Rau for their efforts on behalf of Newman University. I wish each of them the best in their future endeavors."
Newman assistant Zane Ehling has been named the Jets' interim coach for the rest of the season, and Trilli said the search for Rau's replacement would begin after the season.
