  • He joins K-State’s 2026 class as Klein’s second commit, boosting early recruiting.

Arley Morrell was the first football recruit to receive a scholarship offer from Kansas State after Collin Klein took over as head coach earlier this month.

It didn’t take long for him to commit to the Wildcats.

Morrell, a 6-foot-6 and 210-pound tight end from Pratt, has announced his intentions to play for Klein. He committed to K-State on Monday evening via social media.

The three-star recruit intends to sign with K-State after previously committing to both Iowa State and Colorado State.

Morrell actually signed with the Cyclones and appeared dead set on playing college football in Ames until Matt Campbell left to become the new head coach at Penn State. The coaching change allowed him to reexamine his options, and K-State moved fast after Iowa State issued his release.

He will join K-State’s recruiting class for 2026.

Morrell is the second recruit that Klein has landed since he began recruiting for the Wildcats. Josiah Vilmael, a three-star defensive back from Richmond (Texas), committed to K-State on the same day that Klein was hired.

“The head coach is an alum,” Vilmael said at the time, “and he’s going to win there.”
