Kansas State at Oklahoma State
When: 6 p.m. Wednesday
Where: Gallagher-Iba Arena, Stillwater, Okla.
Radio: 1480-AM; 102.5-FM; 107.9-FM
The Lowdown: Kansas State has lost three of its last four games, but the schedule is about to open up for the Wildcats. They have already beaten the final six teams on their schedule, starting with Oklahoma State. K-State downed the Cowboys 86-82 at Bramlage Coliseum last month behind 38 points from Barry Brown. But Oklahoma State is a different team today. The Cowboys have beaten Kansas and West Virginia on the road this month.
K-State player to watch: Barry Brown. The last time he played Oklahoma State he scored a career-high 38 points and sparked a hot streak that saw the Wildcats win five of six. He has slumped in February, only reaching double figures once. But he got to the rim with ease against the Cowboys a month ago. This is a good matchup for him.
OSU player to watch: Jeffrey Carroll. Oklahoma State’s leading scorer can be dangerous from the three-point line. He made four three-pointers at Kansas and three against West Virginia. He also led the Cowboys with 20 points against K-State in the first meeting.
Kellis Robinett’s Prediction
Kansas State 81, Oklahoma State 78. The Wildcats have failed to score 70 points in five straight games, but they will have a chance to wake from their offensive slumber against the Cowboys. Oklahoma State ranks near the bottom of the Big 12 in defense, and that makes this is a good matchup for K-State.
