Kindred Wesemann thought she was participating in a visualization drill with her Kansas State basketball teammates.

Little did she know her boyfriend, Aaron Orpin, was about to surprise her with a proposal.

“You’re at practice and are scrimmaging and things are going well,” K-State women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie told the team Wednesday morning. “You feel ready you make a really good play on defense and then a shot goes up and you turn around to box out.”

When Wesemeann turned around, Orpin dropped to one knee and proposed. She said yes, and her teammates cheered. K-State shared video of the moment on Twitter.

Wesemann, a senior guard from Pleasant Hill, Mo., was one of K-State’s best players last season, averaging 12.1 points and 2.5 rebounds.
