MANHATTAN — Kansas State will join Duke, Gonzaga and Marquette in the CBE Classic next season at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
"It's a big-time tournament every single year," K-State coach Frank Martin said. "It's going to be great for us to play in."
Matchups for the championship rounds Nov. 22-23, as well as the other teams participating in the early rounds of the CBE Classic, will be announced at a later date. K-State and Duke have never played.
Participating in the event will give K-State two strong games against nonconference competition and give it the chance to play two neutral-court games close to home.

In all, the Wildcats will play three games at the Sprint Center next season. It already has plans to face UNLV there.
This year K-State played five neutral-court games: three in Puerto Rico, against IUPUI in Kansas City and against Alabama in Mobile, Ala.
In the future, Martin said the Wildcats may also branch out to Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita.
"We've engaged in conversations there," Martin said. "I don't want to speak for (athletic director John Currie), but he's receptive to it and I'm receptive to it."
Martin did not elaborate on when a game could take place in Wichita, but the Wildcats have not yet scheduled a rematch with Alabama, and owe the Crimson Tide a neutral-court game within driving distance of Manhattan.
