Late trey in OT enables Evansville to defeat Butler

Denver Holmes hit a three-pointer with 17.7 seconds remaining in overtime and Evansville (3-2) rallied to beat Butler 71-68 Saturday in Indianapolis.

The Bulldogs (3-2), the national runners-up a season ago, lost for the second time in three games.

Holmes scored 10 points for the Purple Aces, who rallied from a nine-point second-half deficit after trailing by 12 points in the first half.
