KU women lose to OSU; Goodrich out for season

LAWRENCE, Kan. —Andrea Riley had 30 points and Toni Young scored her only basket with 3.5 seconds left to lift No. 15 Oklahoma State past Kansas 70-68 on Tuesday, the Jayhawks' third straight loss.

The news for KU was worse Tuesday evening — point guard Angel Goodrich suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee and will have season-ending surgery. Goodrich, who missed all of last season with a torn ACL in her left knee, leads the team with 7.1 assists a game.

Danielle McCray of Kansas made a three-pointer with 15 seconds left to tie the game at 68, before Riley rushed the ball upcourt, sliced into the lane and dropped a pass to Young for a layup.

LaChelda Jacobs missed a three-pointer at the buzzer for Kansas (10-5, 0-2 Big 12). McCray led the Jayhawks with 28 points.

Tegan Cunningham, a former Seward star, added 17 points for the Cowgirls (14-2, 2-0), who led 39-29 at halftime. Oklahoma State has won 10 straight games.

Kansas has lost three consecutive games, falling out of the Top 25 this week after losses to unranked New Mexico State and Kansas State.
