Jets hot from long range

Newman unleashed its long-range attack Saturday, beating Lincoln (Mo.) 98-70 in a Heartland Conference men's basketball game at Fugate Gymnasium.

The Jets made 17 of 31 three-point shots, with Keaton Schultz going 6 for 8. Chip Steven hit 5 of 9 from three-point range.

Schultz finished with 24 points. Steven hit 15, and Jake Darby and Justin Berry had 14 and 13.

Newman (10-4) was 13-22 (59.1) from three-point range in the first half. For the game it was 54.8 percent.
