Comets shut down Wings on road

The Wings struggled in their first road game of the season, losing to Missouri 14-4 on Friday night in Independence, Mo.

The victory came on the heels of the Comets' win Thursday night in Wichita.

The Comets scored first Friday on a power-play goal by Byron Alvarez.

A goal by the Wings' Bryan Perez early in the second quarter tied the score, but Missouri scored twice in the next five minutes and took a 6-2 lead into halftime.

The Comets' Ryan Junge had the only goal of the third period.

The Wings Carlos Farias made it 8-4 when he scored midway through the final period, but the Comets used a pair of three-point goals to pull away.
