LAWRENCE — A newspaper is reporting that Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins missed two days of last week's Big 12 meetings because he was testifying before a federal grand jury.
A Kansas official declined to comment to The Associated Press on Tuesday's report in the Lawrence Journal-World.
The newspaper cited unnamed sources as saying Perkins testified in Topeka before a grand jury looking into allegations of ticket scalping by five former Kansas athletics employees.
An independent investigation commissioned by the university estimated the alleged scam, from 2005 to 2010, cost Kansas between $1 million and $3 million. Perkins has not been implicated in any wrongdoing.
