WICHITA — The Heights girls bowling team successfully defended its Class 6A title on Friday afternoon at Northrock Lanes, winning its second straight championship with a team score of 2,458.
It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Falcons, which returned four bowlers from last year's team. Victoria Connelly bowled a 636 series and teammate Juliahna Stockham was eight pins behind to take third and fourth place, respectively.
Heights had two other medalists in Kennedy Johnson at 12th with a score of 588 and Kasey Anderson in 15th with her 576 series. The other Heights bowlers were Emerald Weaver and Shelby Burns.
East rallied in its third game to jump two spots and finish in second place. It was the highest finish in East history.
