K-State basketball gets second oral commitment

MANHATTAN — Days after 7-footer Adrian Diaz gave an oral commitment to the Kansas State's basketball program, Thomas Gipson told that he, too, will play for K-State following his senior year of high school.

A 6-foot-7 forward, Gipson is a three-star recruit from Cedar Hill, Texas. He chose K-State over California, Oklahoma State, West Virginia and Iowa. Rivals ranks him as the No. 136 prospect in his class.

"They've been recruiting me since sophomore year," Gipson told the website. "It feels good to make things official. Coach (Frank) Martin seemed happy about it."

Diaz and Gipson are the known commitments of K-State's 2011 recruiting class. Angel Rodriguez, a be senior guard from Miami, has also expressed strong interest in K-State. Rodriguez's AAU basketball coach, Art Alvarez, has told The Eagle he will likely commit to the Wildcats after making a recruiting visit to Manhattan in the fall.
