Jason Duda retires from Thunder — as player

Jason Duda, whose back problem kept him off the ice almost all of last season but enabled him to be the Thunder's interim coach, announced his retirement this afternoon at the news conference that introduced new coach Kevin McClelland.

Duda will remain with the team as assistant coach.

Duda is the club's career leader in every major offensive category. He played 14 seasons in Wichita, including a 225-game streak which is the longest in team history and third-longest in Central Hockey League history.
