Heights junior Evan Wessel has made an oral commitment to play basketball Wichita State. He met with WSU coach Gregg Marshall today and plans to sign in the early signing period later this year, Heights coach Joe Auer said.
Wessel missed the month of December with a broken hand suffered during football season — he was an All-Metro selection and helped lead the Falcons to the 6A title game — and has played exceptionally well since returning in January. He is averaging 13.3 points, 5.7 assists, 7.9 rebounds and more than a blocked shot per game.
